Support a Family

The Support a Family Christmas appeal brings joy to hundreds of families in need every year by matching donors to families to provide them with a personalised hamper.

The Christchurch Methodist Mission (CMM) is one of the largest social service agencies in the Upper South Island. Christmas can be a challenging time with mounting financial pressures for the whānau that we support. For over 16 years, our Support a Family appeal has ensured that these families do not miss out on Christmas by providing them with a hamper that includes food and presents for the children.

Registrations are now open for Support a Family 2026! You can register individually, or as a family or work group to take part.
How it works:

• You register at the link below by 6 November 2026
• We give you the profile of the family you are sponsoring
• You make up a food hamper, and gifts for the children
• Drop it off at the Christchurch North Methodist Parish (cnr. Harewood Rd & Chapel St) on Wednesday 23rd December between 7:30am and 11:30am
• We pass it on
